Tell us about your business.

My name is Annalissa and I am the owner of Glamour Artistry which is an on-location makeup service based out of Morgantown, WV. I travel all over to bring your special day a touch of Glam.

My love for makeup started young when my parents put me in dance classes. Recital season was my favorite! The sparkle and fringe and endless cans of spray glitter are what little girl dreams are made of! I continued to grow my love for makeup as the years went on with proms and homecomings. Eventually, I decided esthetic school was the perfect fit for me.

I graduated from Morgantown Beauty College in 2015 as a licensed esthetician and professional makeup artist. I specialize in airbrush makeup from the brand Temptu. My kit is made up of high-end products such as Anastasia Beverly Hills, Dior, Urban Decay etc.

I am highly skilled in makeup application for weddings, graduations, proms, special occasions, and personalized makeup lessons. Making my clients feel gorgeous for any event is such a rewarding experience.

What are some of your favorite things about weddings?

Most of my favorite things about weddings include the excitement of the day. It’s a joy to see family and friends come together to celebrate with the bride and groom. Nothing beats seeing the expressions on the groom’s face when he sees his bride in her wedding dress for the first time. Seeing the many different ways that venues are decorated from simple to lavish is fun too.

What are some of your favorite things about West Virginia?

My favorite things about West Virginia is that I am proud to say I was born, raised and still reside in this beautiful state. West Virginia has much to offer in the way of outdoor recreation and places to visit and shop. Plus the number of vantage points where one is able to relax and take in spectacular views. I personally love the Shepherdstown area. All the history and local shops really set it apart.

Tell us the craziest or funniest thing that happened to you at a wedding?

One wedding I was discussing with a bride where to have the makeup setting for the day of her wedding. I had requested a place with lots of light. On her wedding day I show up and there is a huge construction spotlight set up in the wedding suite! I had plenty of light for the day and a good laugh. The bride’s father really took care of the lighting issue for me.

What advice do you have for couples planning?

My advice for couples planning to be married is to remember it’s a learning experience and a partnership. Each person needs to be willing to give and take in the relationship. Compromise is important so that neither party feels that their wants, needs, likes, dislikes, and opinions do not count.
